Fallen Angel- Necro - Dying OC

:iconreadplz:
These are my characters Necro and Dying.

the scan is too bright once again and it ate some details like Necro's scars. If you download, you'll be able to see them better

If you're gonna point out about nakedness or about the scars, FUCK OFF that's why there's a WARNING there.

The whole purpose of the image is symbolism of Necro's and Dying's relationship, how Dying is a sort of 'fallen angel', helpless to avoid being who he is and doomed because of that, and how Necro is blindly ignorant of that, delusional even, and tries to shelter and help him nevertheless, considering herself to be the one be beyond help. As a quick note to why this symbolism is used, Necro is someone that once lived normally and had bases to do so, but those were taken from her. Dying was barely ever treated like someone with emotional needs or like a human being at all and his very structural sense of right/wrong and love/hate is shattered, or was never created in the first place. Necro fails to acknowledge and admit the extend this affects Dying's ability to live in society and is actually delusional about it. The fact that they are both naked is to symbolise a state where you can't hide your true essence and who you really are, with no covers or shields to hide the past a.k.a. each one's scars and what they represent and affect them.

I've turned into a positive thinker haven't I, With the failure of this drawing I can now succeed in seeing all the stuff I need to improve: I have no sense of prespective or proportion at all, my shading skills need severe polish and depth training, I don't know how to draw burned skin, and my mixture of my own style (eyes/hair/hands) with anime-styled (nose/lips) and attempt of realistic body style does not work well. Drawing bodies with no knowledge of anatomy is not so good. Also, I admit my burn knowledge is little and I failed to do a bit of research, but when I was a kid, there was a soap novel or something with a character going through similar experiences that Dying went through, and the character's back was shown once. I had a particular thing for scars back then, so that image stayed engarved in my mind to this day, and from what I remember, her skin was in similar state to what I tried to portray here. But because my light/shadow shading method is the same I used for the burns, they aren't nearly as defined and detailed as they should.

A lot of 'first times' happened with this drawing. This is the first time I've used a stock photo, first time drawing a fully naked body, first time drawing a foot (I never have feet in any of my drawings, and I'm quite happy how it went). Also, I actually mixed 2 stock images together for Dying's pose. Because the original has 2 males, the female anatomy changes are entirely made by me with no reference. I also used a couple of burned skinned images as help to make Dying's burns.

Stock images used: felixdeon.deviantart.com/art/M… felixdeon.deviantart.com/art/M… both belonging to :iconfelixdeon:

i like the burns on Dying...is it odd that i find them pretty o.O? for someone who doesn't have much knowledge or experience in drawing burn scars, i think you did pretty well! at least we can tell it's a burn/scarification of the skin :).
i really like the drawing in general too, and what it symbolises...it's a beautiful and natural way of interpreting Necro and Dying's relationship and emphasising how vulnerable they are behind the fronts they put up...nice work :)
